A brief chronology
Mr.Hong Jun Sheng was born in Yu Shian of Henan province. His father brought him to Beijing as a child.
In 1930 Mr.Hong began to study Chen style Tai Chi from Mr.Chen Fake, who is 17th generation successor of the Chen style. (Before Chen Fake, the style was kept inside the Chen family. He was the first to teach it to others.) Mr.Hong studied with Chen Fake for 15 years.
In 1940s Mr.Hong came to Jinan to establish a strong Chen Tai Chi tradition. In this he was successful and produced many excellent martial arts students.
Mr.Hong dedicated his whole life to the study, development and teaching of the Chen style. He wrote more than 20 books on this subject, such as "Practical application of the Chen style" and "Qustions and Answers about silk-reeling".
In 1996 Mr.Hong died at the age of 90.
Mr.Hong held advisory positions in several Martial Arts Oganizations, including "Beijing Chen Tai Chi Association" and "Wha Lum Kung Fu Association of America", as well as (Chairman of) the "Jinan Kung Fu Association".
