Kung Fu

"Kung Fu" translation 1 - "Hard work"
"Kung Fu" translation 2 - "Skill acquired over a long period of hard work"

"Kung Fu" is Chinese slang for "martial arts".

Here's some things I've discovered in 10 years of practice:

  • "All things come to those who wait" is talking about people who are waiting in horse stance, not on the couch.
  • "If you don't like Kung Fu, Kung Fu don't like you."
  • Study from the best teacher you can find.
  • Which style/system/whatever was first doesn't matter ( unless you're a historian ).
  • Kung Fu masters can be capricious, stubborn and difficult.
  • Kung Fu masters can't fly (like in the movies).
  • I don't like listening to people describing to me how good their Kung Fu is.
